Shark Hydrovac

Animation Director and Supervisor

SharkNinja needed some high-quality CG work to help up the "wow" factor of their broadcast spot for their Hydrovac vacuum/mop combo. We worked closely with GYK, the studio producing the spot, to provide all of the CG shots other than the end card.

The main shot that we were tasked with was a fairly complex shot of soup being cleaned up. We had to seamlessly transition from a live-action shot to our CG as well as showcase the internal workings of the device while the soup was being sucked up. As we worked on the shot, the client ultimately preferred the CG more than the actual footage, so we were asked to provide more shots throughout the piece, replacing the original opening and closing shots.

I worked as the Animation Supervisor and Director for all of the CG shots. I led the conversations with the client with regards to the animations, gave direction to the animators and provided feedback throughout the whole process.
